As The Ann Arbor Independent reported, Democratic socialist Ryan Bartholomew captured 52.44 percent of the vote to defeat Ashley Hall in the Ward 3 City Council primary election. Hall had received endorsements from all 11 Ann Arbor City Council members, including Mayor Chris Taylor, alongside various political and community organizations.
With no Republican or Independent candidates stepping forward, Bartholomew will run unopposed in the November 2026 General Election. Campaign finance disclosures filed July 24th showed Hall raised $36,660, while Bartholomew raised $26,188.
